254 320x240 everest bc trek38 Everest Base Camp & Island Peak The Everest Base Camp Trek and Island Peak Climb begins in Kathmandu, Nepal with 2 nights in a five star hotel located right in the heart of the tourist district Lazampat. After two days of shopping and sight seeing in Kathmandu, we will take the short flight to Lukla and the start of the Everest Base Camp Trek and Island Peak Climb. Along the way, we will be staying in either tea houses or camping. Regardless of the accommodations, each day, our excellent local staff will wake us with ‘bed tea’ and prepare us first class meals. We choose not to eat in Tea houses to ensure cleanliness and hygiene for all of our members and staff during the Everest Base Camp Trek and Island Peak Climb.

The first special treat is accompanying our Ama Dablam climbing team up to Ama Dablam Base camp for a day of rest, laundry and catching up on journals. Ama Dablam Base camp is arguably one of the finest base camps in the Himalayas and a great place to rest and acclimatize for an entire day. We will then make our way towards Everest Base Camp. From Gorak Shep, the last settlement before Everest Base Camp, will ascend Kala Patar (5550M) to view the most amazing sunset in the world. The alpin glow on Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse is definitely one of the highlights of the Khumbu High Passes Trek through the Nepal Himalayas.
